Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Madhya Pradesh, Jhabua district stands out for its unique geographical features and economic potential. Situated amidst the Vindhya and Satpura ranges, the district's terrain is characterized by lush greenery and rolling hills.
Jhabua enjoys well-established rail connectivity, with important routes like the Ratlam-Khandwa line passing through Meghnagar Railway Station. Road transport is facilitated by national highways such as NH-47, ensuring seamless connectivity to nearby towns and cities. Though Jhabua doesn't have its own airport, the nearest air link is provided by the Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore.
Industrial development in Jhabua is steadily growing, with a focus on sectors like textiles, handicrafts, and agro-based industries. Agriculture forms the backbone of the local economy, with crops like maize, soybeans, and the renowned Kadaknath chicken being prominent.
The selection of Kadaknath chicken as Jhabua's One District One Product is strategic, leveraging the district's indigenous breed and cultural heritage. This choice not only capitalizes on the unique qualities of Kadaknath chicken but also taps into the increasing demand for organic and protein-rich poultry products in both domestic and international markets.

SWOT Analysis
Strength:
Geographical Indication product has huge potential in Exports. GI product has its own strength of branding and marketing. Since it is an agro product, there in no problem from the supply side.
Weakness:
The product has no specific HS code, so domestic turnover or export data is not available. The product has not developed its international market yet.
Opportunities:
Due to increased e-commerce and publicity of GI products, Kadaknath has a huge opportunity in the domestic and international markets. Farmers and processors are now equipped with export knowledge and will contribute to exports.
Threats:
Agro products are subject to quality, taste, and cultural aspects. If the product cannot absorbed in local culture, there will be no development in Exports.
